Before I could remember, storytelling has always been a passion of mine. Quite often before school, I would be covering the daily morning news with a makeshift microphone in hand, reporting to my two viewers, my brother and grandmother. Growing up with a mother who was a reporter passionate about conveying a story for all audiences to understand, I was inspired and knew that journalism would be the path for me. As a senior at Howard University, I have had great opportunities to deepen my knowledge for this field, some of them being my internships with News Nation in Chicago, the TODAY Show in New York, and most recently NBC4 in Washington, D.C. Along with my internships, I've had the opportunities to network with a community of student journalists at my school. As a four year member of organizations such as Spotlight Network and Howard University’s Association of Black Journalists, I have grown in my reporting, editing, and writing skills. Through these organizations,  I co-founded a bi-weekly entertainment show, Run It Back, at our University’s television station, WHUT. During my time at Howard University, I have found a new passion for graphic design, therefore deciding to declare it as my minor. As a journalist, I have been able to expand my palette and take courses that sharpen my skills in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop. Throughout my four years, my areas of expertise have broadened immensely, proving my eagerness to embark on a new journey. In the upcoming years, I would love to broaden my experience not only in reporting, but writing, editing, designing, and ultimately, networking.
